Bus Trip
Get ready for an amazing day of food, fun, and learning. Our spring bus tour will begin at Balboa Sports Center in Encino at 9:00 a.m on March 17th, 2019. (in the parking lot off Balboa Blvd., 1/4 mile north of Burbank Blvd and just north of the tennis courts). (NGC, CGCI)
We start off the day at Sunland Water Gardens, in Sunland, CA. David Gardner will lead us on a tour through the nursery with different stations set up to enhance our learning and enjoyment. Learn about many different types of water plants, where they came from and the history behind their development. Get up close with some koi fish and you can even feed them.
From there we will head to the campus of California State University Northridge for a picnic lunch (Please bring your lunch, only drinks and dessert will be provided) and a tour of their Sustainable Gardens and maybe even a peek at the composting process.
Wear walking shoes and bring a hat or visor, and enjoy a day with your garden club friends. We will return to the Balboa Sports Center around 3:00 p.m.
Donation: $15.00 (includes bus driver’s tip, drinks, dessert, entrance/tour fee and a small donation to Southern California Garden Club).
